Well this will be the final installment of our on-going saga of the robbins in the front yard. I went out and checked on the robbins on Monday and they were looking like little robbins. As you can see from the first picture, they had a little fuzzy look but most of their feathers were in. When I checked on the robbins this morning, they had flown the coupe. So now I have shared the circle of life with you over the course of these couple of weeks. Now I feel like I have bonded with the Robbin’s family. I can especially identify with Mr. and Mrs. Robbin who are now empty nesters….

Well it’s time for an update to the robin nest picture show. This week the baby robins have started to look like little birds. They weathered a good storm and momma and poppa bird seem to be finding plenty of worms for the growing babies.

We have a beautiful robins nest out in the front yard. I have been taking some pictures of the wonderful event and I thought I would share them here.
About a week ago I noticed the nest as I was doing a tree inspection on the property. This nest is about 7 feet off the ground so I grabbed a little step stool ladder to take a peak inside. The following pictures are approximately 1 to 4 MB in size. So, if you click on the thumbnail, it may take a bit to display the full image… This is what I discovered in the nest:

I will update/add pictures as the circle of life continues…

Yesterday, I saw “Ratatouille” with my beautiful wife and friends. Since I love to cook and eat, (not necessarily in that order) I thought the movie should be an interesting adventure.
The movie proved to be very entertaining. I thought the storyline was cute even though none of us want our food cooked by rats. The animation was incredible. I was very impressed by the detail of the fur and whiskers on the little rats.
There were a few times the plot seemed a little slow and even skipped a bit from here to there. The only thing I thought the movie plot missed was a “love interest” for the star rodent, but I guess his love interest was food. (I have had the same accusation from my wife before… working on that one…)
Anyway, I recommend this movie and look forward to adding it to the family DVD collection.
I give it 3.5 out of 5
